EDUCATION

Significant progress has been made, but challenges remain to ensure all children and young people get equal access to good quality leaning.

262 million

children worldwide are out of school

43%

of ten-year-old worldwide won’t be able to read in 2030

86%

of children in Africa cannot read or understand a simple story at age 10

150 million

students aged 13 to 15 worldwide experience violence in school

Our work is leading the way in advocating learners’ rights, combatting school-related health-risk behaviours, improving learning environment, and helping teachers to teach and children to learn.

MAMIE's Work in Education

Literacy and Numeracy

We combine innovative technology, classroom teaching and learning techniques to help develop the literacy and numeracy skills and other competencies of learners.

Support Services

MAMIE Foundation provides essential learning materials and social support services to children and their families, so children can continue their education safely and effectively.

Learning Environment

We source and supply teaching equipment and construct and rehabilitate most needed infrastructures to enrich learning for all children in unserved areas.

Health and Wellbeing

Good health and wellbeing of children has been positively linked to high-quality education. We develop initiatives and services to combat health-risk behaviours and practices in schools.

Capacity Building

We actively promote and support teachers’ capacity building in effective curriculum development, student-centred learning and ICT use to improve teaching and  learning effectiveness .

Advocacy and Action

MAMIE seeks to advocate for the best interest of children and young people in decision making-processes in policies and schools to ensure that their rights are protected.
